Display resolution
Info: Toshiba M45 Laptop, Intel Mobile 915GM Express Chipset, WinXP Home.
Problem: Bought new 19"LCD Monitor (Plug and Play), resolution 1280 x 1024, When I try to set my display properties through [ Desktop-right click-properties-screen resolution, 1280x1024-apply ] my screen zooms in and I lose my icons off the edges (including the tool bar of course). I have spent lot's of time looking here (TFP) and other places and can't seem to resolve this. I have downloaded the latest Intel driver. When I go back to my previous 1024x768 I get the correct display. OK, go ahead, have at it. I know it will take you guys longer to type a response than it will to correct this so I sure do appreciate your time.

Have you installed the drivers for the monitor itself, or just the laptop? I've seen this behaviour in the past - basically, the video chipset is trying to run at a higher resolution than it knows how to handle, so it makes the "Screen" larger than the number of pixels it's cable of displaying, and lets you scroll around inside of it.
I'd say grab the monitor drivers and see if it fixes it - if not, I'm not sure if there's an easy way around.
