Satanic headphone cable twisting

Ugh, the cables on my headphones keep twisting and trying to minimize the lenght of the cable. It's very annoying and I have no clue what to do to stop this. The last set of headphones I owned became so twisted that they ripped. I taped up the thinner wires on these headphones, but now the thicker (5mm i'd say) wires are beginning to twist like mad. There appears to be no effective way to straighten these things!!!

i would unplug them and hang them up where the wire can drape straight down whenver your not using them...

if you always leave them plugged in they never unwind and gradually get all kinked up

Hmmmmmmm, I'll try that.

EDIT: I tried it, it's hanging from my polo shirt hangar hanging rack (aka mini basketball hoop ). All I did was kinda tug on it and hang it and it unraveled. Good thinking mate

Another thing that helps: stretch the cable out. Grab it the end right next to where ot attaches to the earphone. Take your thumb and index finger of your other hand and slowly pull down the length of the cord. It will both straighten and loosen it. Just make sure you have a good grip with both hands, you may end up damaging the headphones.

now every time your not gonna use em for a few hours unplug em and give the cable a chance to unwind... shouldnt need to be hung up just disconnected...

used to happen to my moms corded phone... she would use it and move and it would gradually twist up... so every month or so she would have me "fix" the phone wire again

Each time you are picking your headphones up and putting them down, you are rotating them, and that's what makes the twist. Try to make a point of flipping them over when you hang them up.
