Cracked Laptop
I have a 3 yr. old Compaq Laptop and here lately it has seemed to have become very limber. On each side of the keyboard, there are Slots?? where two parts of the top of the frame fits around the keyboard itself. If i pick up the laptop holding it by the two front corners, the rear part/screen will bow down approx 1/4 inch. It is flexing way more than it did when new.
Just wondering if anyone ever had something like this happen before and if you think it will eventually crack the motherboard and render the machine useless?? It is old enough to not be worth the cost to send in for repairs. Wouldn't you know the extended warranty ran out couple of months ago.

I would check to see if there are some screws that are lose or missing, or check very carefully for cracks in the casing itself. If you have already decided that it is not worth sending in for repair then you might as well reinforce it using whatever you can cobble together at home. In general computers are not flexible creatures either in hardware or software so you can be pretty sure that the flex is not ideal.
