Nice LCD keyboard.

http://www.artlebedev.com/portfolio/optimus/
It has little LCD's under each key so you can change the look of the k'board to suit language and function.

Fantastic - I want one already.

Think they'll make a retrofit laptop version?

It's called the Optimus....it's OLED, not LCD. The makers say they are going to try and produce this thing. Pretty neat. I think that OLEDs are heavy so the keyboard may be quite weighty.

Good. At least then it won't break too easily when I go banging around on it.

Cool stuff. I'll wait to see what the final product looks like and how much it's going to cost (the same as a good cell phone?) before jumping on the bandwagon.

Even if the final product is crap, it's an interesting idea to keep tinkering with.

this made me think of this keyboard I found while browsing the EQ2 site.

http://www.zboard.com/us/

I do not think it is LCD or OLED but it still looks pretty cool.

OLEDs (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) are pretty neat. They use less power than LCDs due to no need for backlighting.

More here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic...emitting_diode

My only concern about giving up my keyboard was answered:
From their web site: Some day it will be split (and made “ergonomic”).

And I'm sure we'll eventually see keyboard viruses...

I love ergonomic keyboards. So much easier and faster (for me at least). I hope they aren't just pullin our chains about this thing. I'd gladly pay $300 for one

That is easily the coolest thing ever, long with the the fact that each key is a tiny little screen. I'm definitely getting one when they release it.

Wow!

I'd definitely get one of these...it'd make it a lot easier to remember all the keyboard shortcuts in Illustrator and Photoshop.

It'd make a great partner with the Wacom 19" display.

It will support any language or layout.

Moscow is the capital of Russia.

Each key could be programmed to produce any sequence.

It will be an open-source keyboard, SDK will be available.

Some day it will be split (and made “ergonomic”).

It will most likely use the OLED technology (e-paper is sooo slow).

Our studio is located two blocks from the Kremlin.

It will feature a key-saver.

Keys could be animated when needed.

It has a numeric keypad because we love it.

There’s no snow in Moscow in summer.

It will be available worldwide (why not?)

OEM is possible (why not?)
If only I could afford one.

Assuming it's comfortable to type on I don't see why I'd ever own another keyboard aside from that one after I bought it.
