iPod, problem with the iTrip.

I have a 20 Gb iPod, and I bought a iTrip for it.

My iTrip wont work anymore.
I had it for about 2 months.
I was using it, then all of a sudden it stopped working.
When I turn it on, it plays for a sec, then it stops.
The red light will be on, but it does not play on the radio anymore.
I think I broke it by maybe pushing it into the hole too hard.
Stupid question but if you push too hard can you break the little teeth things that are on it? Even though, it still turns on and does not look broken? I think that's how my camera battery charger broke too, anything that can go wrong, with me it does.
Any tips?
gotta spend 30 bucks on a new one if it cant be fixed.

Does it work if you hold it in certain positions? Experiment (while parked!) with pressing the iTrip lightly to the left, then the right, front, back, and down.

It is also possible (and I hate to bring it up) that you didn't damage the iTrip, you damaged the iPod's headphone jack. Try testing the iTrip on someone else's iPod, or an old Walkman or something.

My head phones work.
I will try the left and right thing.
I threw out the plastic and everything that came with it so I cant re-turn it.
Maybe I can buy it on line cheaper then what I paid for it, it cost like 39.99 at target.

why are you going to buy it again if you just bought it?

warranty replacement is not the same thing as taking it back to the store to be returned.

Contact the manufacturer:

http://www.griffintechnology.com

they will probably be very happy to ship you a replacement at no cost to you.

Before you go buying anything have you tried messing with the station its on? I only ask this because I experienced something similar and you didnt say whether you checked the station settings.

You might want to switch the station setting to something other than 87.9 and if it works on the other setting switch it back. For some reason, I accidentally switched my station once without knowing it and for a split second when the unit came on I would hear my music on 87.9. It might be worth a try.
