Now..I realize it's not entirely legal, but if I were to host an mp3 or two on my site, would I be allowed to post a link on TFP to share?

Figured I'd ask before actually doing so, just to make sure.

I would probably say this isn't a good idea. Bittorrent are just like text files with information in them and do not actually contain any illegal material, yet the FBI sees them as illegal if they point to copyrighted content.

Linking to the copyrighted content, in this case the mp3's, from this site would be considered similar to the situation above.

in simplified terms... i ask that you don't, since it can just create more work for us.

secondly, we don't allow site plugging and that can become a variant of site plugging...

just to make it easier on us, I ask that you don't. The torrent example is a good one, and well if you like TFP, then let's keep it clean here so that there's no reason for the FBI to come here and shut the place down.
