Digital Camera Websites

I was wondering if anyone could point me to a good website for digital camera reviews. I did a google search but the top 4 or 5 hits didn't have any resent cameras.

If anyone has a reconditions i would love to here. I am looking at spending around 500 to 600 Dollars

One thing to keep in mind when you read reviews; some of them come at it from a ease of use perspective, other from a quality of results one. That's why you will see conflicting reviews.

def dpreview.com and stevesdigicams. I won't buy a camera without consulting these sites. Good forums on dpreview too.

I would really suggest spending about 200~300 at most then. Get a decent 4 or 5 megapixel camera from Olympus, Canon, or Nikon and go from there.

Then in 2 years get another camera. Spending more then $400~$500 for a point and shoot camera is really hard to justify for me.

I would suggest the review sites mentioned above also.

kenrockwell.com is a very interesting site full of opinions and real world photographic insight.

I've gotten a lot from it lately.

stevesdigicam is great cuz they have a 360 of the camera, all the dimentions, all the info possible and even some pictures taken with the camera to see the quality. for mine, there was a 11 page review.

i'll throw in another vote for dpreview.com... took their advice for my last digicam and won't buy another without consulting them first.

Crazy

When I was looking into buying a digital camera ( My first one also ) I spent hours on stevesdigicam. While it was a great resource, I dont think that the info was enough for me to just go out and buy a camera without having atleast held it in my hands first.. so after playing with the 5-6 cameras I was thinking about I finally found the one I liked and bought it. Since then (~5 months ago) Ive taken over 800 pictures on it and I love it. It had everything I wanted because I had reserched it and I had gotten it at a decent price by shopping around. Dont just settle for something - research it and make sure youre getting exactly what you want.

*And if youre looking at ultra portables dont over-look casio. Id be more than happy to send you pics Ive taken from recent trips on my little z50 to prove it worth your time.
