I found this list to be quite interesting.

Whilst I know it's bad form posting just links, I think many others may benefit from this article.

Besides, this thread could easily be used by TFP'ers to disagree with the utilities listed!

Man this is a flamewar waiting to happen! By the way, thanks for the list, I'm trying out that trojan scanner (ewido) now.

I'm checking out the registry cleaner and dll cleaner. I'm surprised that Google's Desktop search wasn't placed as best search utilities. That's a pretty robust search, much better than the default IE search utility.

Hm ewido doesn't like my system; i ran it 3 times, it froze 3 times. Oh well.

I've been running Microsoft's Antispyware program (#3 on the list) for a few days now. It's good. I like it. It runs in the background and alerts you when something is trying to load on your system.

Ive been using www.pricelessware.org for a while now whenever I need to find a piece of (windows) freeware for something. A great little site, and has tons of apps in many different categories.

I'm suprised on the IDS front they didn't say snort
I'm suprised on the anti-virus front they didn't mention clamav
that is all...
