Fruits of my labour
I have had a fair bit of advice from this thread with web programming (php mainly) for those that have helped me here is the finished product

Nice and fast.
Can I comment? Clean up the mouse cable in the image on the portfolio page. There's some distracting white bits left on it. Full stop at the end of the Enviromental Agency blurb in Portfolio section. I kept looking for a scroll bar thinking that the sentence would continue. Break up the paragraphs in the News section. You have a quote in the 'Flying High' article but nothing to say who's words they are. Website Design article has a glaring carriage return after the hyphen in a hyphenated word. Mainly a pedantic thing, but I'd like people to get a good impression of you and your services, particularly as you link directly to them in prominent areas of your Home Page. IE and Firefox have a different rendering of the colour on my browsers. IE is darker grey background, but has some funky white corners at on the border of the content. Firefox shows it as a nice white page with a shadow below. Good job. |
Cheers willypete, have amended the text, am looking at the mouse cable now. what version of IE are you using, I'm using version 6 and can't see the differences you mentioned
|
d*d, I saw it too. I think it all depends on what you have your brightness/contrast set to. I altered the original to show you more easily what we're talking about, and I also fixed up the image to show you the difference. Feel free to use the new one on your site if you don't feel like redoing it. :D

Firefox.
Install it, even if it's just to see how the other 15% live. ;) |
Nice work. Very professional and clean. You should be very proud of your work and I bet it helps you get more work in the future for sure.

You misspelled "compliant" on the front page, probably a typo:

Your HTML 4.01 code is beautiful. If you wanted to, you could easily take it a step further and make it XHMTL 1.0 compliant. Just close all the "open" tags (IMG, LINK, META, etc.) with a forward slash and change the DTD, and you're good to go. Examples: Code:
<img src="some_pic.gif" alt="some text" /> |

Excellent work! Especially since your page is fully HTML compliant. Don't see too many sites like that these days. Heck, even my crappy site isn't compliant...just punched it out in vi.
I love how clean the whole site is. Great job on keeping the theme consistent throughout. |
I figured that since I was advertsing the article I'd written on sites bieng compliant on my home page, I needed to practice what I preach
