Sending Google Automated Requests? HELP!

It seems I had some spyware/adware on my pooter, had a couple of funny messages today & then I got one from Google when I tried to run a search. I updated virus definitions & ran a full scan. I also got a hold of adaware & It found 3 dodgy files, one was Altnet (altnetbde), the others were called Alexia & Claria. Adaware got rid of them ( i think) & I figured It was running ok but I'm still getting this message when I run a Google search.
Heres what It says:

We're sorry...
... but we can't process your request right now. A computer virus or spyware application is sending us automated requests, and it appears that your computer or network has been infected.

We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your computer is free of viruses and other spurious software.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google.

So I'm fresh out of Ideas, I wonder is there a way to restore explorer to its default, should I be using Netscape?, any ideas would be appreciated.
