DV to HDD
I was wanting to know if anyone here has ever recorded straight from a DV camera to a external hard drive.
Is it just a standard firewire drive or is there really somethig differnt to the ones marketed toward the video industry? I have a Canon GL2 that I will be doing this on, I just want some advice before I spend 200 to 500 on a hard disk to record to.. I am tired of waiting for it to dub off the dv camera to the computer in real time, I would like to be able to have it there as a useable file on an external drive.... PS searched google but didn't find anything really relitive, just a few items being marketed towards video that were a but overpriced for what they seam.... Thanks |

You don't really need a special drives, but there are some made for video. I have had very good luck with those from ProMax.
