Dual-display question. (Vid game with DVD playing?)

Simply put, is there any way I can run a video game on one of my monitors (World of Warcraft) while I use, say, PowerDVD to play a DVD on the other? Aside from processing power, are video cards able to do this? I ask because I tried it and PowerDVD gave me some kind of resolution error and Windows Media Player would play the movie but there would be no image, just audio. I'm guessing it's because the video game changes the resolution settings that the DVD players want to run at. Maybe my card can split the resolution per monitor?

Thanks for any info.

The game should play on the primary screen. Put the Media Player on the secondary screen and it should work. I tried it on my Radeon X800 and it worked fine. I tried to use the ATI DVD player and it wouldn't let me put it in the secondary screen for some reason..

Well...I think what happens is that WoW is forcing windows to be in the resolutions that game users has set inside the game. But yet, the powerDVD player is trying to figure out what resolution windows is suppose to use and once it finds it, it forces the secondary monitor which in turn, fucks up the game's attempt to play the monitor resolution and visa-versa.

Man, I'm so fuckin drunk...memo to self: review what I just posted...
...
memo note 2 to self, remember the first memo...
...
memo note 3 to...ah fuck it

Very interesting. I did what you said the first time I tried which was when I had the problems. I'm pretty sure it's a software thing between WoW's effect on the resolution and the compatibility with it from the DVD players standpoint. I feel this because WMP played the DVD fine but there was no image, probably due to some decoding or whatever mumbojumbo and it's conflict with the resolution.

Thanks for any more ideas.
