Saving Quicktime files (when not allowed)
Is this possible?
I heard of a way to save it from the Internet Browser's cache. I think on a Mac I have done this. Anyway to do it on a PC? I prefer QT but WMF are also available. THANKS! (i did a sear but to no avail) |
If you use Firefox, you can often save a QT file by viewing Page Info, going to the Media Tab, and selecting the QT object.

You can indeed save from the cache. These files and directories are usually hidden, but you can see them if you set up your Windows explorer properly. (Tools/folder options, "view" tab, "show hidden files and folders".)
When you've done that, browse to your cache (location can be found in the internet explorer options, temporary internet files, settings.). Sort the files by size or extension, and copy the large ".mov" file to another location. There are usually a couple (or a lot) of directories there; and don't expect the names to make any sense. |
