DVD Software with subtitles

My family just brought the entire season 1 of CSI: Miami. Since there isn't any subtitles option on any of the DVD disc, the captioning works when I use a TV that has it turned on. But when I pop it in my computer's DVD, sadly, InterVideo's software can't do the same. Anybody know of any software that would work the same as a TV captioning?

Mmm, you need something like BSplayer or Windows Media Player Classic. A codec pack wouldn't hurt either if you're dealing with lots of formats.

Ugh, stay away from codec packs, they only make your life more miserable.
vlc is a pretty nice player, you could try that one. It also does not need any external codecs which is nice.

I use PowerDVD and it supports subtitles. I think just about every "actual DVD player software package" supports subtitles - I'm surprised that InterVideo doesn't. I'd look through the documentation and see if maybe there's a hidden option somewhere.

closed captioning decoded from the TV isn't the same kind of subtitle from a DVD.

I think feelgood means "closed captions" (CC) which isn't the same technology as DVD subtitles. Some DVD titles only have CC. One example that I know of is The Langoliers (1995). However, I believe WinDVD and PowerDVD both support CC.
