As soon as i get it, i'll review the Sony NW-E507
I just purchased an Sony NW-E507 mp3 player.
http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=NWE507&Dept=audio&CategoryName=pa_flashMemory It has build in radio tuner, as well as cool new shit not seen in mp3 players: - organic LED display, supposedly allows for tiny, but crystal clear display - two finger knob that controls the whole device [lets hope its not as shitty as BMW's iDrive system lol] - super fast quick charge battery. a full charge will give you 50 hours of playback, and a 3 minute rapid charge will give you 3 hours of battery life Its 1gig, and it costs 200 dollars -- pricey, i know i applied for an amazon.com visa a year ago, and used my 30 dollar gift-credit towards it, so i only paid 170 [no shipping or tax ] anyway, I know a few people are waiting for this product, so i'll play with it for a little bit as soon as it arrives [may 7ish] and write up a review

sweet....
I just picked up the hard-disk based Sony NW-HD5 myself which is the other half of sony's latest one-two punch on Apple. quick comments: gorgeous industrial design, combined with a POS software bundle. (sonicstage 3.1) (if anyone gets one of these, get sony's vaio music transfer software. Allows for drag-and drop mp3 transfer and made me feel a WHOLE lot better about my purchase.) Now that I've put some tunes on it I'm absolutely in heaven. Great battery life, looks cool, easy to navigate, looks cool, and is absolutely tiny. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences with the little one, I needed the extra space but I really liked the design of the flash based players. What colour did you get?

as for mine, the e507 only comes in the color posted above, the e407 [same product, minus the radio tuner] comes in three colors. personally, i think the "special edition" color of the e507 [the one i got] is the nicest color --> very cool silver with matching silver oLED display =] also, sony claims its smaller than a 5-piece pack of gum... that should be cool. i cant wait, im really excited to get the shipment =]

ah....the joy of having purchased something online and the inevitable waiting for arrival. How I love it....
That is a really nice colour scheme there, I'm sure you'll be impressed. One thing I noticed about the screen; because it's incorporated inside the case it really looks like the writing is being made inside the plastic. It's just so cool. Ipod shuffle "but we don't need a screen" people be damned. I couldn't imagine using a portable device without a screen, and that's one of the nicest I've ever seen. Actually, I think it is the nicest. I like sony... Oh, I think you just get the VAIO software from Sony's website, no charge. I don't know if the flash player needs sonicstage (would be nice if it was all drag 'n drop) but if it does then the VAIO program is a big step up. looking forward to your review!

Well, I was supposed to have this on May 7, two days ago, but it seems as though there's a factory delay on Sony's end. Still no sign of shipping, and Amazon is telling me to sit tight.
matt101, as for the software, i wasnt planning on using the provided program, but i guess i'll play with that too for an hour or so, and provide a simple write up

still no go?
grrr...I'd be getting angry. On the plus side, the bundled software on mine started playing nicely the other day. Transfer wasn't quick (think it re-encoded all my .wmas into atrac+ form) but every song on my laptop is now in this thing. ah....10GBs of music...how do I add to thee...
