Question regarding Dreamweaver

I'm not skilled in internet programming or coding whatsoever. I'm a gamer, I have no time for such things. But recently my friend's internet host had a special offer going that I couldn't refuse. So I hopped on it and got my own domain name.

Long story short, I'm using Dreamweaver MX 2004. I'm curious if anyone has any experience with this. I'm not looking for much to put on my website, but I dont want it to be entirely lame as well.

the link to my site is http://www.uberakito.com but please remember I'm very new at this, and even what you see there is like 4 hours of work. I'm just looking for some tips or guidelines I should be going by. I tried looking around the net, but couldn't really find any helpful tips or addon's. I dont know what dreamweaver can really do, but I'm eager to learn.

I'm looking to incorporate a sort of blog to the site, a place to keep my journal and update it as easily as possible. Essentially, I know what I want, just no clue how to get it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Honestly, my suggestion would be to learn some basic HTML, then move on to Dreamweaver, or stay with a standard text editor. You'll find it much more rewarding if you know WHAT you can do, other than trying to figure out if you can do it, then trying to figure out how to do it. With this, you'll be steps ahead if you want to start to use CSS, XML, PHP or other website enhancing dodads.

Your site looks spiffy, but none of your links work, but since it's off a template, you probably know that.

Here's some great links theFez posted earlier in the homepage thread:

http://www.alistapart.com for good css information (kind of advanced)
http://www.w3schools.com for good basic html/css/javascript information. they have a 'sandbox' environment where you can play and see what happens.
http://www.htmldog.com/ is another great reference for css and html
http://www.phpfreaks.com/ for good php information

Whichever way you go with it, good luck and feel free to ask questions as you have them.
