KVM Switch with IP question

If I had a KVM switch with IP services, does that mean that I can connect via a remote computer and view the screen no matter what is happening at the terminal? So basically lets say I remotely reboot a server, I could see the POST screen, etc? Or if I had a server BSOD, I could see the blue screen from my desktop instead of running to the server room and up to the interface?

I am unsure so i was curious if you guys knew. If so, I want to get one of these for the company server room.

Thanks

Yes, you can see the POST, bootup and whatnot. Also, by having an IP-KVM switch, there is much less cable hassle in the back of the rack (assuming thats where its going). I used to have multiple cables coming out of the back of our rackmount units into a regular KVM switch. I then bought an IP-KVM switch that Dell sells and now I have very minimal cable visibility.

What was the model and cost if you don't mind me asking? How many servers do you have hooked up to it?

Dell PowerEdge 2161 IP KVM. The switch with 16 Pods (ports) was $3,755.19. We currently have 14 servers hooked up to it, all Dell PowerEdge.
