PDF,Quark,and Illustrator Question

Here is the deal... I have to edit a medical chart that is currently in PDF format. The Chart was originally made with Quark then converted to PDF. Nobody had access to the original file, nor do I have Quark to work with. My Problem is that when I import the pdf into Illustrator the text and check boxes dont line up properly. I'm thinking that this problem occurs during the import What Can I do to properly import it? What program would work best?
Its also saying that I don't have the necessary fonts. I've done some searching and found most of them, but I still get the error that I don't have the proper fonts installed.

No hope. Recreate it in Illustrator.

You wouldn't be able to open the pdf in Quark anyways.
You could import the PDF in Photoshop and make it a piece of art, but it sounds like you're wanting to edit it a little and this would make it difficult and probably unsightly.

Let me know if you need any help.

Try exporting from Acrobat as an AI file again. You might also try simply slicing up in Illustrator and moving things where you want them.
