Bluetooth Problems

I can't seem to open "My Bluetooth Places" on my computer, I have no clue why it isn't working and don't know how to fix the problem. Does anyone have any ideas to fixing it?

Are you sure that your Bluetooth is turned on? Have to ask, because you never know.

Look under the Control Panels, what does the Bluetooth panel say?

I'm assuming you're running Windows XP of some sort, because you failed to tell us anything about your computer.

Sorry I assumed everyone used Windows XP. But yes the Bluetooth configuration is on and and the device is working properly. I am running Windows XP SP 2 with a logitech bluetooth hub/wireless mouse (MX 900). And the mouse runs completely fine I just can't connect any other devices because I can't see "my bluetooth places." I hope that helps.

Doesn't the MX900 utilize a proprietary Bluetooth hub for its base/recharger?

Because of this and the way that Logitech drivers typically work you may want to see if there's a specific Logitech program for managing Bluetooth connections rather than going through the WinXP interfaces.

Just a thought.

It uses a little of both. To run Bluetooth, it uses the regular Widcomm bluetooth drivers but for mouse settings it uses logitech software.

Personally with something as off the wall as this my first troubleshooting step would be to check for updated software from Logitech and possible patches on Windows Update and then uninstalling/reinstalling the software and applying the patches. It's usually pretty quick and painless and if it doesn't fix it you can get into the more intensive KB searches for resolutions that match your problem.

That's what I was afraid of, when I went to install the drivers the first time you had to go through Safe Mode so you could delete Microsoft's idea of a bluetooth driver. Oh well it looks like this is going to be a weekend project.

Ok I have uninstalled everything related to this mouse and bluetooth. And then I reinstalled my mouse, except now I have no bluetooth period!!!! This is driving me insane, does anyone have any ideas?
