Browsing TFP with Opera... Not "updating" info.
I have been using Opera as my browser lately, and one thing that bothers me with it in relation to the TFP lately, is that when I post, and then click the forum link, I am taken back to the thread view, but I don't show up as having "Last post" and the post count isn't updated.
Another example.. When I go to threads I have been to before, they have new replies, but I don't see these replies until reloading.. It is frustrating, and it is pretty obvious it is a cache and cache refreshing issue, I am just not sure how to fix it. Does anyone that uses Opera know of the issue I am speaking of, and if there is a way to resolve it? I am hoping there is, as while browsing the forums here, it gets annoying fast to have to reload every page I view.. As you can imagine. Thanks in advance. |

I really don't mean to be flippant, but since no-one has answered your question, all I can say is have you tried Mozilla?

No worries.
I am also using Mozilla.. Trying it out and whatnot. I love Opera though, and am hoping to get to the bottom of this. I think it is going to the cache, so the only solution may be setting my cache size to 0 MB, but that would result in excessive loading on other sites.. Wouldn't it? I have to hit refresh at TFP every time I want to load material. Clicking a link and loading the site is bringing up the cached (read, old) material/posts... Thanks for the reply. I am giving Mozilla a shot, but I do like Opera as well.

In Opera under the Preferences there is a section on History and Cache. You can set it to look for a new page based on time or you can set it to always look for an updated page. You can leave images and other set to longer intervals since those don't change as much as web pages do. I hope this helps.
