Monitor color problem

My back up PC has a 17 inch Sansumg Syncmaster 753cf
monitor on it....

running windows-ME with 128 mb mem on a 40 gb hd..

all of a sudden my monitor turned a terrible yellow green color...and nothing I can do will change it,,

It appears to be missing red and blue....

do I have a new boat achor or is there anything that can be done to revive it....there are no adjustments on the back or front for color..

give it your best shot---viejo

It sounds like one of the guns in the CRT may have issues. You could take it to a TV repair man, but it probably would cost more to fix it than its worth. If you have any computer shows in your area you can find used ones for under 50 bucks I believe.

have you tried percussive maintanence?

with monitors it seems to work with some regularity least for me...

Percussive maintenance is the only maintence for monitors :) Works every time.

sometimes my monitor has a pinkish color or tint...what do i do?

sounds like I had best check out the flea markets...which we have a bunch of year around...

I'll try the judo chop to the right side and see if we get any results...damn that was a nice monitor...

ok, I'm gonna ask the stupid question. Have ya recently put any magnetic devices near it (like speakers?)

macmanmike6100 03-06-2005 07:57 PM

check Google for samsung troubleshooting fora; I would imagine that others might have had similar problems. surprising that it's a samsung though.

First thing to check: did you recently unplug the monitor cable and plug it back in? If you accidentally bent one or more of the pins inside the plug, that will cause colors to disappear.

Next: If all your pins are in good shape, I second percussive maintenance. Beat the shit out of it until the blue and red guns come back on. Worked like a champ on my piece of crap Relisys monitor for years.

If percussive maintenance fails, find a tall bridge and have fun chucking it from the peak :-)

if the cable has been bent too much the wires inside can start to split, which fucks with the color signals...is the cable fucked up? i had to splice the cable on one of mine,

viejo gringo 03-07-2005 04:48 PM

cable looks ok---but I did have a speaker setting close to it at one time---

going now to check out the pins..

thanks to you all--know I can always count on you..viejo

Who would have believed " percussive maintanence" would work??

JSTRIDER AND WOLF you were right-----

a short but hard judo chop on the right side about half way up--
and BINGO, that baby came back to life...

hurt my farking hand, but it was worth it.....

many thanks to you all....(percussive maintanence??)---goes away mumbeleing...

L/Y--viejo

man... last night mine died... loud pop the screen flickered and went black... ive been repeatedly trying the percussive maintanence... but apparently to no avail...
