MSN voice chat

I'm having problems getting msn's voice chat to work.
We're both behind hardware routers. They can hear me, I can't hear them. they have a webcam, and I can see them
So to repeat:
Me -> them voice works
Them -> me video works, voice does not.

Any suggestions?

do you use a router? if so, check the port usage provided by msn and either forward ports to your computer so it allows that connection to take place.. that, or either dmz yourself which drops all secure lines and firewalls provided by the router itself allowing any and mostly all connections to pass thru. do only for a temporary basis ONLY...

oh.. also. i forgot to inform you go to go start > settings > control panel > sound devices > voice > and retest hardware so it realigns the software devices properly. by doing so, it flushes any fouled up, configured settings, and resets them by clicking 'test hardware'.
