Need help with my SATA HD please!
I built a new rig, everything is high end tip top pieces in this thing, and I really really wanna start playing some shit on it.
But, everytime I go to install windows, it says it doesnt recognize any HD! Bios SATA thing is enabled. When I boot up, it will recognize 116GB on the very first load screen as well. I tried some software from Seagate, the maker of the HD. It was a CD ISO, as well as I tried a 3.5 bootdisk from there. Please help before I toss this 1300 dollar rig out the window ![]()

As far as I can remember from when I installed my sata drive, you need to install the drivers for the harddrive while installing windows. There should be a screen that says something like Press F8 to install SCSI ... that's where you want to have your floppy ready in the drive with the sata drivers on it to install. Just go through the screens, and there should be an interface that lets you pick the right ones for your sata drive. If you're hard drive didn't come with any floppy with drivers (mine didn't, bought it OEM) just check the web and you should find it pretty quick. Good luck.

yeah thats the disks that I tried, I began window install, pressed F6, hit S to continue installing 3rd party drivers, but the disk had an error. I tried it like 4 times with a few disks :\
Think I'll try to find a different driver disk download.

Since i couldnt get windows to install on the sata i stuck a old Ide drive in. Installed windows on it and then used drivewizard that came from the seagate website and copied the HD over. Worked like a charm and i wish i would of just went at it like that from the start.
