SonicWall- any way to beat it?
Just slammed into "Sonicwall", a new install. Any way to "climb over" this?
Thanks in advance... |
Huh? Whats the question?
|
Sonic Wall is a censoring software set up on our server...
|
Sonicwall is a brand of firewalling appliance. They also offer an option for it that does web filtering.
Your best bet is to either tunnel out (using SSH or something) to an anonymous proxy server or find out how it is comfigured (i.e., can certain IPs pass unfiltered, etc). Be warned, since it is a full-blown firewall, it can and probably is logging all traffic coming in and going out. |

What is SSH? And how would I figure out the configuration? I guessed that it sees all and logs all- I'm not trying to get porn or anything evil. We are in the music biz, and some bands sites are "locked out" due to sex or drugs, even alcohol. Whatever help, I thank you! |
Complain to the admin if sites you need to reach for legitmiate reasons are being blocked. Otherwise, it's thier perogitive to block sites, and you should not try to circumvent it.

SSH is a secure shell for Unix and Linux systems, but has Windows ports as well. You can also configure it for tunneling traffic while encrypted.

And thanks, Boner. I will attempt to study these 2 sites, although it looks a bit over my head... |
