Just from that quick description I am guessing you don't have the correct plugins for Quicktime, Real, etc. Maybe?

Mozilla Update :: Plugins and PluginDoc: Home should have all the answers you need. Ask again if that doesn't work for you.

I'm using Firefox and at times I have the same problem. I think I am pretty thorough about plugins. I have noticed when people get really trick with the way they tag stuff, Firefox sometimes gets a little confused. I actually don't think it's Firefox's problem though, just a lack of sticking with any type of html standard.
Make sure you have your plugins correct. |

I have had similiar problems. For some reason, I can't install Real Player for my Firefox. Which in and of itself isn't bad but sometimes thats the only way to view the media and I am forced to go back to my dreaded Internet Explorer. I still get to use my beloved Firefox 99.9999999999% of the time.
