Drat!! Desktop icons screwed!!
I've been playing around with StyleXP and WindowBlinds.. Somehow I got all of my icons spaced like tight fitting small tiles.
I have unloaded StyleXP and WindowBlinds.. everything is back to normal WinXP style, but it won't let me set the Icon Spacing back in Display Properties. I have changed them several times, always rearranging and refreshing the desktop. I am able to change the size of the icons, but not the spacing. Any other suggestions? I have a ton of icons on my desktop, and right now there are about 37 icons in one column!! ACK! |

I use a freeware program called icon saver to save the positions of the icons on my desktop. It works well for me because when you change resolutions the icon positions can get fubared. heres the link. http://www.iconsaver.com/index.html
FYI: it saves the icon positions in the registry so you only need to run the program when you want to save or restore the icon positions. No, this didn't exactly answer your questions but you did ask forother suggestions. ![]() |

I finally figured it out.. It's a glitch.
I had to adjust the icon spacing, then keep clicking on the "align to grid" and "arrange" buttons... Windows wasn't updating the desktop, even when you hit refresh. It was a bit of a PITA, but I'm going to try the Icon program mentioned. I'm sick of redoing them after playing some games!! |
