SM Deluxe's Weird Network Problem
I'v looked around this forum and cant seem to find some one with my same problem.
I have had a Wireless connection in my house for a while now. Unfortuanly its unsecure, but it worked none the less. But up till a little bit ago me and my roommates have been having problems. It first started as random disconnects. And got worse from there. Now it's to the point where we cant access the internet, but, we can network. I can see all my friends computers, and they me. We just dont have any internet connection. Now when we connect a computer directy to the wirelessrouter via lan cable, it (according to them) works fine. We could always see our network, up till a couple of days ago, we cant see our router at all. But we can see other wireless routers from around our apartment complex. Now it gets even stranger. I brought my computer to work cus i needed to stay late tonight, connected it to our network here, from some internet browsing. Now to my suprise i can see our network but cant connect to the internet. I have no idea whats going on and what to do. Is there some sort of virus i might have or any thing for a ice fix. I started thing it was our Internet provider, but since im here at work i fear for a virus or something. OMG, im computer retarded! Sorry if this was all over the place, hope its understandable.

Try resetting your router. If you can't do it by logging on, there's usually a button on the back somewhere. Set up everything to where it used to be, and then see if your router is working fine. If it is, throw on 128-bit WEP encryption just in case that's what happened.

We have tried resting before but it didnt help. But its odd how my roomate can connect to the internet via lan cable (our router has wi fi and cable support), but we cant use our wi fi cards. Even though i know our cards work because we can see other networks and even connect to them. I'm having the same problem here at work, so i'm wondering if its our computers, we all have the same problem.

The antenna on your router might have died. Check to see if that's loose or anything. Beyond that, I have no idea. But since you can connect to other networks, I'm thinking that it's probably a problem with the router, not the computer.

Thanks for trying to help Slavakion, but nothing seems to work. Like i said before too, im here at work and i still cant get internet, but i can connect to my companys workgroup. I ran a crap load of virus scans and spyware scanners, but to no avail. I comes up with two spyware things, one is from download accelerator, one was called alexa i think and one said DSO exploit.
