how do I stop the silence between songs when burning audio cd?

I figure someone here would know the answer to my question. I downloaded a concert, and am trying to burn it onto a cd without the 2-3 seconds of silence between songs. I tried using Media Player, but cannot find any options to stop it. When I play the songs on the Media Player it goes from one song to the next with no silence.

Thanks in advance for holding my hand and walking me across the street as you would a young child. :p

iTunes has a cross fade option...

Might need more information...

Did you download the concert in seperate mp3 files or one big one? If it's one big one you'll have to manually go in and edit the waveform (I wouldn't recomend it).

If it's several seperate mp3's and you want to just smoosh 'em together... I typically use Nero to burn my CD's and it will let you change the delay between tracks. The default is 2secs, but can be changed to whatever you want it to be...probably zero.

I believe it all depends on what program you are using to burn it. Most of them have an "options" tab or menu item that will give you the option to omit the 2 second break between songs. I can't remember which program I currently have at home, so I don't know 'exactly' where to tell you to find this option. However, I know what you mean, I tried to burn a live album and the breaks are really annoying and kill the whole live album feel.

I'm sure someone here can tell you exactly where to find the option.

What does cross fade do? I've never heard that term before.

I downloaded them all as seperate MP3s. I tried to find an option to eliminate the break between songs, but couldn't find it. I use Windows Media Player, which I just recently got the hang of, regarding transferring set lists and all that kind of stuff. I'll probably try the iTunes or Nero. Thanks for the suggestions!

yeah, nero has that option. I wish I could remember the name of the program I have at home. Its very small and good. Bah, oh well, itunes or Nero should do the trick anyway.

Crossfade blends the end of one song and the beginning of the next together. If you've ever seen a DJ's turntable, there's a (can't think of a good word) toggle that you push from one side to the other. As the song is ending, the DJ starts the second disc and pushes the crossfader to bring up the audio for disc 2. That way there's no dead air.

Nero 5 and 6 have the option to disable the 2-second silence feature.

Nero will do this for Audio CDs. Once you set up the track list you want to burn, you can double click on the 'pause' column for each track and change the pause interval from the default of two seconds down to zero, or whatever you like.

Other CD burning peograms will do this as well. Look for a 'Disc at once' option.
