What do you get when you do an IP config?
Hi-speed or dial-up? If high-speed, direct to modem (USB or RJ45) or router or hub or ?? If high-speed, does the send/receive part of your LAN setting increase in bits (i.e. is there info going out, not going out, coming in, not coming in, etc) XP & High-speed - dble-click your lan, second tab, click repair. If router--can you ping the router, other machines? As much about your set-up as possible |

I was going to suggest the samething as KMA-628. Also check to see that your firewall is not the one blocking access to your browser, it happened to me one time after someone tried to flood my network, and as a safety measure, my firewall stopped all traffic.

This just happened to me too. I fucked around and ended up running ipconfig through the run command on the start menu. The box closed before i could see what it said, but it coincided with me regaining access to the internet. Doesn't make sense to me.
