Anyone have Voom?
Does anyone have the new High Def satellite service called VOOM? If so, how do you like it as far as the service, picture and sound quality, etc.
The problem with DIRECTV and DISH is that they only have about 5 Hi Def stations and want $10 a month additional. VOOM has like 35 or 40 high def channels. |
My household was considering switching to Voom, but we discovered in talking to friends that their fine print hides many additional costs.
Mark this one as "buyer beware." They may have changed their game since then, but be wary none the less. -BoltedDown |
Voom is on the way out...
From Fuckedcompany.com Voom doom Cablevision pulls the plug on Voom, selling to EchoStar for $200 million. When: 1/24/2005 Company: Voom Severity: 60 Points: 160 |
When I was selling Dish, I was 99% certain they would buy out VOOM after a while.
|
Now, I'll just wait to see what Dish does with them and keep my digital cable in the meantime.

My dad had Voom for awhile, but wound up getting rid of the service, as he did not care for it. He is picky with everything audio-visual (you should see his theater), but I don't recall his reasons for not liking it.

Yes voom is a very bad deal. I have read the reviews from avs and other websites and the company should be going down the drain soon anyways. Unfortunately even though dish a directv only have 10 hd channels you really need the sd channels. Unless you only watch TNT, ESPN, and HBO you going to want the other stations that dont come in hd.

Voom is what Little Cat Z had under his hat in the book "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back"
