PetsMobility™ Network, Inc. (PetsMobility™) is a wireless communications company that will be providing innovative wireless communication products and services to the rapidly growing multi-billion dollar pet market segment. Current estimates predict pet and pet related expenditures in 2004 to exceed $34.3 Billion in the US alone. From our office located in Scottsdale, Arizona, PetsMobility™ will introduce the PetsCell™ Cellular telephone as well as other related communication products to the worldwide market.

PetsMobility™ has the first ever Cellular Telephone for pets and will provide a full range of wireless communication hardware and accessories for the pet industry.

The patent pending PetsMobility™ PetsCell TM will be compatible with existing cellular and satellite GPS technology. The PetsCell™ will allow pet owners to talk to their pets as well as allowing owners to request assistance should they become incapacitated and require help. In addition, and perhaps more valuable, pet owners will have a piece of mind that if their pet is lost and someone finds their pet wandering the streets, with a simple press of a button on the PetsCell™, the auto dial function will dial the owners home alerting the owner to retrieve their pet.

While on vacation, at work, or on the road, pets can be contacted by that friendly recognizable voice of their owners.

The PetsCell™, 2-way communication device will also be available with an optional GPS tracking chip and a fibre optic camera for search and rescue applications.

O.... M..... G......

I thought you were joking, and that this should be in the Humor forum. But no. Wow. I wonder how popular that will actually be.

...

What the fuck?

...

Can't these people devote their time and money into projects and/or products that are actually useful and could possibly benefit someone?

No long must the family discover Timmy has fallen down the well by translating Lassie's barks...

But also, now your Cats can ignore you from afar.

I mean a mirror/flashlight throws off many pets..
I wonder what a disembodied voice will do.

Wow, I can just see people at work: "Hi fluffy! How're you doing? Aw that's good".

This'll make life more creepier. The GPS sounds ok though, in case I lose fluffy... er I mean. Nevermind.

Assuming bruno doesn't decide to bite their hand off for trying to touch his cell phone. But yet another toy for the idiotically rich (ie paris hilton).

I know a person that does that now... they'll call the answering machine and talk to their bird...

I suppose it'd be helpful if a dog got lost, but wouldn't a cell phone be easier to lose than dog tags.

and here i thought kitty condos were silly...

The GPS thing is pointless, because they have been injecting GPS chips into animals for a few years now.

Was I the only person who read this part and thought: wtf?

has anybody heard of/seen/used the translator? i think that is even MORE ridiculous, and am convinced that it is a joke, though the marketing page seems completely serious. supposedly it translates your dog's bark, but c'mon, you've got to be kidding me.

My dog has a fairly significant vocabulary that she understand. One day in a moment of inspired orneryness, my wife left a message on the answering machine with a bunch of her key words.

Hello Fido want to go for a walk in the park? Maybe a ride in the car to go for a swim?

The dog was bouncing off the walls before the message completed. I'll pass on the cell phone, I'm not that anal about my dog.
