Problems Burning CD/DVDs???
Greetings To The Collected Wisdom,
Everytime I try and a disc, either CD or DVD, from my secondary/slave harddrive it fails. Why? If I want to burn something I have to transfer it to my primary harddrive. Is there something I am missing? THanks Specs: 2.6P4HT 1.25G of 3200 RAM Windows XP SP2 Nero 6

What is your hard drive, CD/DVD drive arrangements? 2 HDs on the same cable on IDE1? Do you have one CD drive and one DVD drive? Or a combo CD/DVD drive? The rest of the computer geeks need more info to help you. Defrag both your HDs.

Sorry. Here is some more info:
I have two harddrives (two 200G Seagates) and they are not raided in any fashion. They are on the same IDE cable. I have two DVD drives and my burner is a Pioneer DVR-108. Everytime I try and burn a disc the buffer never reaches full and quickly disappears and and Nero tells me that the burn failed. Is there any hope? Suggestions? Ideas? Thanks

I don't have any advice but if it makes you feel any better, whenever I would try to burn a DVD it would start and then say that there was no disc found in the drive. I was so frustrated cuz I had bought all these DVD-Rs for a video class and I had several left over. I didn't even really want to burn a DVD, just wanted to test out my crap. So then I said "maybe it will only work with the H/P brand DVD's for some reason," so I used the one they gave me in the box and it worked fine. Then my dumbass realized that I had a DVD+R drive and not a DVD-R drive. Boy was my face red.

If I were you, I'd check out the forums atCdfreaks.com
They specialize in this sort of stuff and have helped me with all of my burning needs. Sorry, I can't help you myself, I just don't know enough about it. |
