Computer = Alarm Clock
Does anyone use their computer as an alarm clock, and if so what programs do you use?
I'm very fond of WakeMeUp. it plays an Mp3 or Cd through the systems sound card to wake you up at a desired time. Want a 15minute snooze? just hit the space bar.
hey that sounds like a good plan. you could put a wireless keyboard by your bed!!
i used to hafve a program called mp3 alarm clock. you set a time an mp3 file and it will play it at the specified time. you can prob find it at www.downloads.com
bet there are many, many more options |
Have and I use it, I was sleeping thru my regular clock.
A bunch of people I know use their blackberries from work as their alarm clocks.
i have my system turn on at 8:00 am, im a light sleeper and the mix of the fans and the monitor charging wakes me up. i have it set to boot at 8:00 in the bios. its easy to set up.
... and if i need an extra bit i can set winamp to autoload on startup and auto play on load.
i use a program called gAlarm
its pretty decent. the only bad thing is that i can't save my preferences. so everytime i start the program, i have to manually put in what time it goes off. |
I use a plug-in for Winamp.
I have a program called College Alarm Clock. Let's you set different times for different days if you want, plus can use your own sounds/mp3s as the alarm.
Huh, I didn't know that there was specific software for this.
I just used Windows Task Scheduler. I set it to run a "program", pick my MP3 to run, and set the time. Windows auto starts Winamp, which the night before I cranked up the volume all the way, and it works fine. With the skin I have selected too, it takes me a few minutes to find the little x, in which time I get good and awake. Now that I know different products, though, I may try them out. Thanks for the info. |
I use iRooster on the Mac..Works well and purty too.
gah.. i'm so going to do it. Is there anyone that can randomly play a song on a playlist?
