Can someone explain in plain english how to convert bin file(s) to DVD?

I have a movie split into 2 folders with a bunch of rar's in each. I extracted into 2 bin, 2 cue (1 from each folder) but have no clue how to convert this to DVD. I've searched other sites but jeez, I'm a doc and still can't get it.

Any help?

i'm pretty sure you use a program (nero?) to call up the bin file, and it burns the cue to the disk..via the bin..or something of that sort...

Well, those are CD images, so you open up Nero, go to Recorder --> Burn Image, then select the cue file. Burn it to a CD, and it should work. Its an SVCD or VCD, right? I'm not sure how you would combine the two though.

Likely they're VCD images but can't be sure without more information. What are the file sizes? They might be images of DVD's or just images of more files that still need work.

.bin's and .cue's are almost exclusively for VCD, not DVD. VCD is burnt onto CD media, not DVD media.

The .cue file is a small text file that "calls" the .bin file into action. The .bin holds all the data that makes up the video.

you can use nero, roxio, fireburner, or many other burning programs to burn the vcd.

now if you want to make a dvd, you need to extract the .mpg file from the .bin and .cue (google vcdgear).

Your other option is to "mount" the .bin, so you don't have to actually burn a disc...instead, you "mount" it to a virtual CD drive, then you can watch the file as if you burned it onto a disc. google dameon tools. it's the shiznit! hehe

One is 673 MB the other is 376 MB.

Mikec: yup, I tried to convert it to DVD (my damn Panasonic DVD recorder/player doesn't play SVCD) by extracting the mpeg with VCDGear but it seems like there's a problem with it: the progress bar doesn't show any progress. After clicking start, nothing happens. Looking at their message board, others are having this problem too but no solution. Is there an alternative to vcdgear?

vcdgear is all I know for doing that.

just for fun, have you tried mounting the .bin and .cue with a program like daemon tools? if vcdgear won't extract the .mpg there's 2 things I think of...1 is that the file is incomplete or corrupt, and 2 is that it might not be housing a video file at all!
