Codec problems
Hi all,
I recently built my first computer and installed windows xp and everything yada yada yada, but I can't get nearly 2/3 of the codec's i had before. Windows media refuses to download ones it previously had no problem obtaining. Im not the most techinally advanced person out there but i've tried turining my security waaaay down and removing the firewall but no luck. Anyone know a web page or someplace out there were I can download codecs manually. Thanks |
http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm k-lite codec pack. Will probably cure what ails your codec woes. I'm a fan of Windows Media Player Classic with this codec pack, since it allows me to use realmedia files without using the realmedia player. (personal preference)

Download VideoInspector from this website, http://www.kcsoftwares.com/index.php?vtb
It will analyze video files you point it at and then tell you what codec you need to play it. I used this a while back when I upgraded to the latest windows media player and it helped getting all my video files working again after I couldn't play them. |
thanks they were both very helpful
