friend's custom build problem

my friend is buildin himself a new comp and we are both stumped on what's goin on with it...here is his description of the problem

Quote:
Basically what i have is a K8N Neo 2 Platunium with 3200+ 64 939. When i try starting the comp for hte first time with everything plugged in it would stop at the the first bio's screen with (testing memory/ and what processer). But when i unplug everything and leave the 2 power in to the mobo and one for my 6800 gt i can get past all of that untill the computer reliezes that theres no harddrive and i get a bootdisk error. i tried chanign powersupply and that did not help.
if anyone has any ideas theyd be greatly appreciated...the bootdisk error comes from the fact that there is no OS on the drive, obviously

check the bios revision, make sure it's current.

i'd try the most all unplugged bit again, a few times, see if that's consistent.

add hardware 1 at a time.

and, check bios settings.

don't have enough info to be more specific .

This is easily and usually overlooked, reseat the RAM in the banks. Clean the contacts with some rubbing alcohol. RAM can be the culprits of many weird things. If this doesn't work, check the MB website to see if it's compatible with the AMD 64. Good luck.
