Need a new Monitor
Hey guys
I need to buy a new monitor, and I'd like to get an LCD monitor.. I have about 200 bucks to spend, but I guess I could add another $100 or maybe a bit more if i need to. I was lookin for a 17" monitor. I watch a lot of movies and play some fps' and games., but im not really familiar with lcd's.. any suggestions? I'd like to keep the price down if possible.. but if I need to pay of quality, I guess I'm going to need to.. I dont need top-of-the-line., but something I can do what I like to do w/ it.. Thanks for ur helps :icare: |
Watch deal forums (like techbargains.com or dealnews.com) for deals on LCDs. Every now and then a decent 17" LCD will come up for about $200.

17" 1280x1024 LCD's were going for $179-199 the day after Thanksgiving. Watch for surprise end-of-year sales the next couple days.
If you have the space and won't be moving it around a CRT will be easier on your eyes and wallet. $200 buys a very nice tube display these days. Higher resolution, faster refresh, brighter. Downsides of course size, weight, and power draw. |
Things to shoot for:
Resolution: 1280x1024 Refersh rate: 16ms Input: DVI (if you have a DVI output on your video card) |
how is this one?
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...005-026&depa=1 I found it on newegg, and it's supposed to have DVI.. its out of stock now.. but its pretty good for a pretty good price.. wat do u think? |
i actually have that same monitor, and purchased it from new egg. I love it so far, no dead pixels and i haven't noticed any ghosting on games like cs and doom or WoW (which is all I really play) If you have a decent video card I would definently recommend. the driver software interface is crap but not really that important anyway. pm if you have any questions about it
