Problems installing Firewire/USB2
So I'm stumped. I little brother is got an IPOD for Hanukkah. He has a home built windows PC, so we needed to get a Firewire card for him to hook up the IPod. When we try to install the firewire card and run the hardware wizard, the install fails. I called the company and they said to exchange it. I get a new card and it does the same thing. I figure the mainboard (epox ep-8k7a+) does not support firewire. I get a USB 2 card and it does the same thing.
I stick the new USB 2 card into my computer and it sets up without a problem. I've dug around and the internet, called a few friends and they are all as stumped as I am. any ideas on what might be the problem? Thanks…

If I guessed correctly, it's in your motherboard bios. Somewhere in there you need to enable PCI bus master or something like that. I built my PC a couple of years back and went into the bios to do my tweaking before installing Windows. Hope this helps you.
