Using Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Remote Control outside of Creative Mediasource apps? - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Hi all, I'm debating on whether this goes into Tilted Music or not, but I suppose in a more general sense, it's a computer question, so it's here.

I picked up a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum the other day and I'm very happy with the purchase.

The problem I'm having is that I want to use the remote that comes with the Audigy with apps other than the Creative Mediasource App that comes with the card. Specifically, I'd rather use my copy of iTunes with the remote.

When I use the remote with iTunes, I can only control volume and remote shutdown. I have no way to skip tracks, fast forward, or rewind.

With the Mediasource Player, I have all those options, but I'm not interested in importing all my mp3s into it. In addition, I find the Player interface to be inferior to the iTunes interface.

Is there some third party app that lets me use the remote for more than just Mediasource Apps?

I know lircd (in linux) works with it but it takes some work to do it....I also believe a winamp plugin exists...oh and intervideo windvd works with it too....
