Where did my volume controls go?
For some reason, my volume control icon in my system tray (Windows ME) is gone, meaning I have no ability to, well, control the volume. I currently just have headphones plugged in to the speaker port on my sound card.
Did I fuck something up? How can I get it back?

under your sound propertys there should be an option to show volume controls in the taskbar, and should have a clickable box next to it. Not really sure how ME is compaired to 98 But your audio controls should be in your control panel.

I dont have the sound icon in my task tray. I have something against having a lot of icons in the task tray, dont ask me why, its inexplicable. If i need to adjust the sound properties i usually just go to Start-->Run.. and then just enter sndvol32 and hit enter. Same thing if i need a quick text editor i go to the run box and type notepad. I just find typing in commands so much faster than using the mouse sometimes.
