iPods and Conversions...
I will be getting an iPod soon, and I would like to be able to fit as many songs as possible onto it. I was looking through my mp3's and they are mostly all in .mp3. Is there something I can use to batch convert it into a smaller file so I will be able to fit more songs onto the iPod? I hope that made sense.
Thanks!

Probably wont be able to get a much smaller file than a .mp3 that the ipod supports. You could lower the bitrate but that would also lower the sound quality. With todays ipods holding a minimum of 5000 songs with the 20gb (unless you got a mini) I wouldn't worry about it too much.

You have the option of converting the .mp3 files to .aac using itunes, but I hear there is a quality loss during the conversion. The best thing to do is to rip your cd's again into .aac format - it's more high quality and is smaller.
