Backing up Firefox bookmarks
I know I can export my Firefox bookmarks to an .html file, but I use a backup program each night to copy files and folders to an external drive. Where does Firefox store them?
|
Documents and Settings/[username]/Application Data(hidden)/mozilla/firefox
linux it would be /home/name/.mozilla/firefox or for x.5-x.8? /home/name/.pheonix (I put this in in memory of pheonix browser....before the 1st name change.....) |
In your Profile folder. Where that is located depends on your OS. Look here to find out where. And, the bookmarks.html file is already in .html format; 'exporting' simply makes a copy.

Open Mozilla Firefox Browser goto Bookmarks ---> Scroll down to Manage Bookmarks--->Then go to File ---> Export. Give it a save name, then click save.
Then to import them back in follow the same instructions as above, but instead going to Export, select Import. |
