Dell 8200 Series Question
I have a question about a Dell 8200 Series. I asked in one of the other threads, but it went unanswered. Anyways, I want to upgrade the hard drive, but I wasn't able to install XP in the new hard drive. I don't have too much computer knowledge, so I would appreciate it if somebody could help me out. Thanks in advance.

My initial response is this:
1) What type of harddrive is it and 2) Did you format it and format it correctly (NTFS, FAT32)? It would be easier to disagnose if you supplied a few more details. Thanks

I don't understand. Did you install a NEW hard drive, or are you trying to install Windows XP on the OLD hard drive?
If you installed a NEW one, is the old one still in there? If so, are you formatting that one too, or trying to leave it as is? Which one is master/slave? (You can check on the back/top of the drive usually... there are labels saying how to determine this) What type of hard drive did you buy? Computer questions usually get vague answers at best. Vague questions will get you nowhere. Try to get some more information, then we can help out. |
