ACT? salesforce.com? another program?
I'm not sure it this is the best forum, but here goes -
What's the best software for managing sales and inventory for a 12 person sales force? We do not have a tech-person in the company. Most of our employees are tech-tards. We have 12 guys all over the USA. Our business is a bit like commercial real estate, in that we have to manage an inventory of around 2000 high-ticket items (each one is unique) and we have clients all over the world - about 5,000 and growing. Multiple sales guys call on the same accounts, so we have to be able to see everybody's data. We need to be able to seach the data and the inventory to match prospects to inventory. Salesforce.com looks like the best way to go. It offers the most features, is very easy to customize and has robust, fast servers that we never have to touch. Unfortunately, it would cost us over$9k per year to run. ACT is a lot cheaper, but we'd have to rent server space, or buy (and manage) our own server. I'm unsure about ACT's functionality and ease of use. Anybody have any experience with either of these? What are my other options?
