lesson learned

so i bought a sick HSF for my AthlonXP3200+

what I didn't check was my mobo to see where big objects were that could get in the way...sooooo I had to bend a capacitor about 30 degrees ofset to make the unit fit. Luckily, it still powers on OK and seems to be working fine as I don't think I removed the leads from the board.

so next time you are buyin some aftermarket stuff, make sure you consider all the crap that is protruding out of your mobo!

They are definately good heatsinks though.

Yeah, I've had to file some material off a heatsink to get enough clearance around various bits on the motherboard. Fun times.

same here, I had to take a dremem and carve out some of some heat sinks to fit around the caps. I would rather mod the HSF then take a chance at f'ing up my board.
