Monitor keeps getting darker
 

I purchased a Radeon Pro 9800 a couple of months ago, i installed it and everything was fine. However the past week or so, my display keeps getting darker and darker, i have my brightness and contrast settings all the way up. Is there anyway to fix this? Does anyone know whats' going on?

What kind of monitor is it? Alot of the older Gateways start to go dark after time with about a 50% chance of getting them bright again. If you have the brightness and contrast turned all the way up on the monitor and it makes little difference it would probably be time to start shopping for a new monitor. Eventually it will get to the point where you won't be able to play any games at all from the sheer darkness of it.

It's pretty normal for CRTs (not sure about the others) to lose some of their brightness over time. Buying a new monitor is pretty much the only solution in the long term, through in the short term youc an try increasing the brightness and contrast settings of your graphics driver.

how do i change the brightness setting with an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro? I've looked all around the control panel. BTW thanks for the help albeit bad news.

(it's a dell monitor...about 2 or 3 years old whenever the 1.8pentium4s came out)
