Camera phones
Since my current cell phone is broken. I'm thinking of getting a camera phone. I can get one pretty cheap with a new plan. I'd just like to know how they work. Do you connect a cable to get it on your computer? Or do you have to pay a price to send it as an email? Or what?

Depends on the phone. Some of the snazzier ones use bluetooth or something of the sort to transfer files to and from your computer. For the most part, I believe that you need to get a service plan that includes e-mail in order to send photos to an e-mail address that you specify.
I don't know how hard it is to get a cable. My work has cables for BREW phones, but that could just be because we're developers. |

I know that with sprint you take a picture then you upload it to the sprint server. then when you want to share the pic, you send a text message with the url and then you view the url to see the picture.

Best use I've found so far is taking snaps of my friends sleeping in class and emailing them to everyone. It's like a contest: Me: 'I got 5 today!' Buddy: 'Haha you suck I caught 7 sleeping, including you!'

i have a sanyo pm-8200, and i love it. the only thing i wish it had was bluetooth. my friend has the black sony cellphone with the camera and bluetooth. he uses the bluetooth to have his cellphone control his laptop. pretty cool fer music control and such. so i reccomend you evaluate allthe things you want to do with your phone. also cameraphone rules if you drink heavily. it helps to remember things you saw and did if you have pictures

I have a v551 which has bluetooth and gets decent pictures. I barely ever use it. The primary reason for having it is, if I were to ever get in a car accident I have something to take pictures with. But the only real use it has gotten is taking pictures of drunk people while they are passed out on the floor.
