Question about downloaded movie files
I have downloaded a few movies off of Torrent and need a little help.
Every now and again, I get a movie that has two separate folders: CD1 and CD2. In these folders are about twenty or so WINRAR files, all of the same size. In addition, there are some files that I have never seen before, i.e. R30, R31, R32, SVC. When I extract one of the WINRAR files, I get a cue/bin file about 400 megs. I know what to do with this and have done so before. Here are my questions: 1) How do I know which of the countless WINRAR files that are the same size to use? 2) The first VCD I made did not have audio, only a picture, did I use the wrong WINRAR file? 3) I prefer to deal with AVI files (I make DVD's from them), how can I make sure I am downloading a movie instead of a cue/bin setup? (the movie file title said nothing about VCD). Any other suggestions? I use either Sonic or Nero to make my DVD's. Oh yeah, one more question. If the downloaded movie only has a "video_ts" folder, will it work? I am worried that without the corresponding "audio_ts" folder, I will be making coasters. Thanks in advance! |
Hmmm. lots of questions
1. Winrar groups: In general, the first file will extract from the rest. So pick the .r00 file first. If not try .r01 or an unnumbered file. 2. It wasn't your winrar file- most likely you had some codec issues (a codec will "descramble" the information you have on the file) To find out what codecs you're missing, "Gspot Codec Information Appliance" is a great tool. 3. It depends on where you're getting your torrents from but often you just don't know what file type you'll be getting unless it's posted. (unless there is a way to find this out? I'm all ears) 4. I wouldn't worry about needing an "audio_ts" folder, I'm pretty sure it's all in there. |
