Got MSN messenger to open my Hotmail using Firefox!
 

I did a search and didn't find this so here goes...

I wanted to force Messenger to use my default browser instead of IE when I clicked the check my inbox button.

I downloaded Messenger Plus 3 from http://www.msgplus.net/ and installed it. Then I installed the Stuffplug NG plugin http://www.stuffplug.com/ for Messenger Plus, and configured it to force messenger to use my default browser. Now MSN is using Firefox with no problems.

by the way, there is spyware all over that plugin :(

If you actually read what you agree to when you install it, there isn't. When it pops up the license agreement, the top button says "Yes I agree and install the sponsoring software" the bottom one says "I agree, but don't install the other software." Just read before you pick. I didn't my first time installing, hehe...

I hear that this 'option' has little effect on the spyware installed, and personally I find it supsicious that any "sponsor software" would give you the option to not install it.... hmmm.
However I have not tested this for myself. Maybe someone can confirm this for us?

You hear wrong, and as I mentioned earlier, I tested it and it doesn't install the spyware. My SB:S+D and Adaware haven't seen anything.
