Program extraction need help if possible?
Hey all, I have a question for you. My laptop blew up, which doesn't concern me as much as the fact that I need the data on the HD. Here's my problem:
I bought the laptop used because it had Photoshop on it, and I enjoyed working on my pictures. The laptop, however didn't come with a photoshop install disc. I transferred photoshop from my laptop's HD over to my desktop now, because I would like to have it back, but it's giving me errors telling me that certain elements are missing. I updated the registry keys on this machine in the hopes that it would work, but no luck. is there anything I can do? |

It's Possible But Highly Difficult to do successfully. Essentially when you install photoshop it installs dozens of registry keys, and hundreds of files, alot of which arnt in the Photoshop Directory. So you'd need to know every one of those files, and registry keys and put them on the desktop pc. Also if its a different versio nof the operating system it could be totally different. My suggestion is buy a used copy on ebay.

Before you go out and spend alot of money on photoshop I'd give The Gimp a try (download link ) (Site Link ). It's free, and although it doesnt have all of the features of photoshop its pretty close, especially to the novice user.

Heh, not sure if it works with the photoshop trial, but I rememebr using the Paint Shop Pro 4 Trial years and years ago, it was for 30 days , but if you just kept turning your windows clock back it kept lasting, Used it that way for like a year
